Dinner’s On Me: A Feed-Your-Family Cooking Club
Dinner’s on Me: A Feed Your Family Cooking Club Tuesdays, 4–5:30 PM | Florence Civic Center | Ages 7–11 (Ages 12+ as CITs) | $375 includes weekly food to share coming home | September 15, 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, 27, November 10, 17, 24 (Community Classroom Cafe)
What if your child could cook dinner for your family — from scratch? Not from a box. Not from a packet. From real ingredients, real techniques, and real pride. 🍽️
Dinner’s on Me is an 10-session afterschool cooking club where kids learn to plan, prepare, and pack up real food for their families (up to 4 people) — one delicious Tuesday at a time. Each session takes place at the Florence Civic Center, where young chefs will work with real tools, real heat, and real responsibility to create something their whole family can enjoy that same night.
This is not a cooking show. It is not a baking kit. It is hands-on, teacher-led, certified-instruction cooking — where kids learn knife skills, kitchen safety, food preparation techniques, and the deep satisfaction of feeding the people they love most. 💛
Each week brings a new meal, a new skill, and a new take-home.
Every session campers leave with a take-home meal or kit — ready to finish cooking or serve straight to their family that evening. Week after week, families will open the door to a child who says four of the most wonderful words in the English language: Dinner’s on me. 💛
🍽️ The Big Finale: The Community Classroom Café | November 24th | 5-6 PM | The Florence Civic Center
For our final session, young chefs will transform the Florence Civic Center into a real working café — setting tables, greeting guests, taking orders, and serving food they are genuinely proud of.
Parents are invited to be served by their young chefs from 4:00–5:00 PM while little ones are cared for by our Babysitters Club next door. Kids will arrive early to set up, review food safety and serving etiquette, put on their aprons, and open the café doors.
It is the culminating moment of eleven weeks of learning, growing, and cooking — and we have a feeling it is going to be absolutely unforgettable. 💛
A Note on Kitchen Safety This club takes place in the full kitchen at the Florence Civic Center — a real, working kitchen with real equipment. Our young chefs will be expected to follow kitchen safety rules at all times, handle tools responsibly, and treat the space with care and respect. Our certified teacher will be present and hands-on at every session, and safety is always our first ingredient. You know your own kid, and whether or not this would be a good fit for them or if they need to wait a bit to grow their responsibility muscles.
