Every great baker started somewhere. This fall, it starts here. 🍪

Cookie Club is a 8-session afterschool baking club where kids learn the real science, real technique, and real joy behind one of the world’s most beloved foods. Each session takes place in the full kitchen at the Florence Civic Center, where young bakers will measure, mix, cream, fold, and decorate their way through a carefully crafted curriculum that is equal parts chemistry, art, and deliciousness.

This is not a kit. This is not a mix. This is from-scratch, teacher-led, hands-on baking — where kids learn WHY cookies spread, WHY butter matters, and WHY changing one ingredient changes everything. And then they eat the results. 🍪

Each week brings a new cookie, a new skill, and a new discovery.

Every session, bakers go home with some of what they made. Every session, someone in their family is very happy to see them walk through the door. 💛

Along the way, Cookie Club bakers will build real skills that last a lifetime:

• Measurement, fractions, and ratio — math that actually tastes good
• The chemistry of baking — reactions, leavening, emulsification, and more
• Mixing techniques — creaming, folding, whisking, and why each one matters
• Kitchen safety, food hygiene, and responsible tool use
• Recipe reading, following instructions, and creative adaptation
• Presentation and design — because a beautiful cookie is a work of art
• Confidence, patience, and the deep satisfaction of making something from scratch 💛

This club is perfect for curious kids who love food, love science, and love the idea of walking into the kitchen and knowing exactly what they’re doing.

Cookie Club meets Mondays from 4-5:30 PM at the Florence Civic Center. Ages 7–11. Ages 12 and up are invited to join as Counselors-in-Training.
