Shari has been an educator in some form or fashion for her entire adult life. Career highlights have been directing a social justice and environmentally themed library for young changemakers in the Bay Area, nurturing babies and supporting families as a nanny, and teaching and tutoring kids of all kinds. She has a passion for children’s literature, and gets psyched watching kids- especially the resistant ones!- develop a love for reading. Shari brings this background to her tutoring, helping struggling readers and writers flourish. She has particular experience with English language learners and students with learning differences. Shari holds a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Tufts University, and a Masters in Social Justice Issues in Education from San Francisco State. Shari is currently a licensed teacher for English language learners, and lives in Ashfield with her dog and her partner, where they enjoy the great outdoors.
