Patty has 24 years of classroom experience. She found her love of teaching through volunteering in her daughters’ classrooms when they were in preschool. She was an assistant teacher at Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School, then a teaching fellow at Smith College where she earned her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. Patty recently retired from Pioneer Valley Regional School District where she taught in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. She has a wealth of experience in teaching diverse learners and is skilled at meeting students where they are, to provide both support and challenge. She creates engaging lessons using multiple learning modes and hands-on activities. Outside of the classroom, Patty loves to visit historic sites and art museums, and enjoys nature hikes. She is excited to bring her passion for education to the student-focused experience of tutoring.
