Mathematics has been Megan’s passion since she was young. Megan believes the most important aspects to learning are a safe and supportive environment which embraces mistakes as opportunities to grow and centering joy for the subject, its connection to the world, and student’s experiences. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College, where she graduated magna cum laude as a double major in math and studio art. Before graduation, she gained teaching experience including as a Teacher’s Assistant and Grader for a couple calculus courses and as a summer Teaching Fellow designing and instructing students in geometry. Since graduation, she has taught algebra and statistics/probability courses, been a substitute teacher in kindergarten through 12 grade classes, and tutored students with special needs. After receiving a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Mount Holyoke College and becoming a High School Mathematics educator, she is still sharing her love of math in the public school setting and at The Community Classroom.
