Colleen has been captivating students for over 30 years with her warm, easy nature and sense of humor. She has taught every grade from pre-K to high school, in both private Montessori and public schools. Currently, she is the 7th-grade academic support teacher at Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter School. A Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art, a Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Human Studies, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Writing highlight what Colleen values most: Creativity, Connection, and Communication. She believes that learning doesn’t happen without having established trust and respect, and prioritizes cultivating authentic relationships with her students. Colleen’s sense of fun and love of learning is infectious. She brings out the best in her students and champions their unique gifts and perspectives. When she is not teaching, Colleen enjoys writing stories, reading, hiking, and spending quality time with her teenage daughter.
