Catherine MacBain graduated from UMass with a Master’s in Education. She is a retired
teacher who has taught students from ages 5 to adult in Texas, Massachusetts, and as far away
as the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. Her specialty is working with language learners and with
all elementary subjects. She became bilingual in English and Spanish after a college semester
exchange program in Peru where she studied film-making. Her interests include kayaking,
traveling, going for walks, and spending time with friends and family. She believes that the most
beautiful place in the US is along the coastline of Oregon.
