The official decree from Unicorn Council: it was a fab day at Unicorn Club. We found out the unicorns are still learning how to write and spell but their snuggle and reading game is strong. They shared their tips for calming down (unicorns can get really wound up), and they got their official names today. What would your unicorn name be?

Our Movie Magic Pop-up camp scientists walked the rainbow carpet into our bookstore-embedded lab, then explored popcorn science -learning why popcorn pops and how carbonation can make popcorn kernels dance! They decorated their own popcorn bin, piled up the gooey goodness with a hot chocolate bar, and snuggled in to watch a movie with their new friends. The cozy vibes at @high_five_books were perfect for this winter fun! We ended the afternoon with a little dramatic play with a REAL clapboard and kid-directed movie scenes. Thanks to our buds at High Five for hosting us and our buds at @a2zscience for some fun props! We sure do love joyful learning. πŸ’•πŸŒˆ

Michael has over 20 years of experience as an instructor in mathematics, special education, and digital photography & imaging technology. He currently serves as the K-6 Math Coach and Interventionist for Ware Public Schools in Ware, MA. Michael combines a keen, relentlessly curious intellect with a wealth of experienced and highly trained teaching skills. He is known for his empathy, calm and kind personality, and unwavering commitment to the education of all students. Michael`s favorite part of teaching is seeing his students experience that "Aha!" moment as they learn math from early numeracy to Algebra II and everything in between.

Michael combines a keen, relentlessly curious intellect with a wealth of experienced and highly trained teaching skills. He enjoys supporting students in developing writing, critical thinking, research, and organizational skills through discussion and individually-tailored creative exercises. Poe has worked with both homeschooled and traditionally-schooled students of all ages and levels from kindergarten to graduate school. He lives with his spouse and cat in Florence, and can often be found baking or in the archives.
