Kristie has been an elementary educator in the Springfield Public Schools for 20 years. Currently, she’s an Instructional Leadership Specialist in the area of Mathematics, holding the position for 12 years. She oversees all of the Math teaching, learning, and assessment that happens in her school. The best part of her days though, is always working with students. Her teaching is grounded in building relationships with my students, and she strongly believes in the old adage, “If they don’t know that you care, they don’t care what you know.” Her students know she believes in them as mathematicians, and together they work to develop their confidence and readiness in mathematics.

She received her undergraduate degree from Bentley University and her graduate degree in Elementary Education from Springfield College. She holds a Massachusetts teaching license in Elementary 1-6, Math 1-6, and Admin/Principal PK-8, and she’s a certified Math Recovery Intervention Specialist.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling – especially vacationing with her daughter, reading, and gardening.
