Brittany teaches writing to middle and high school students at Write the World, a global writing education organization where she works as Education Program Manager, as well as undergraduate and graduate students at Columbia University and Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is deeply passionate about social-emotional learning, especially in relation to grief-responsive, trauma-informed practice. She published Learning from Loss: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Supporting Grieving Students through Heinemann Publishing; has authored over 40 articles in the field; and regularly offers consultation and professional development sessions for K-12 school districts and organizations. Brittany studied English and Education at Smith College and UMASS Amherst; Creative Nonfiction at the Yale Writers’ Workshop; and is pursuing a Certificate in Trauma Studies through the Trauma Research Foundation.
