And then find out exactly why it does what it does. \nNeedoh Science is a half-day materials science program built around one of the most satisfying\, most fascinating\, and most endlessly squishable objects in the known universe — the Needoh ball. Through hands-on experiments\, real science vocabulary\, and the kind of deeply satisfying exploration that kids want to do over and over again\, young scientists will discover the remarkable materials science\, chemistry\, and physics behind why squishy things behave the way they do. \nAnd then they will make their very own Needoh to take home. Because of course they will. \nActivities may include: \nThe Science of Squish — what makes something squishy? What makes something stretchy? What makes something both at the same time? Young scientists will explore the properties of non-Newtonian fluids and polymers through guided experiments that are as fascinating as they are deeply satisfying. \nMaterials Testing Lab — stretch\, compress\, bounce\, and squeeze a variety of squishy materials and record how each one behaves differently under pressure. Real science. Real data. Real fun. \nMake Your Own Needoh — the moment everyone has been waiting for. Using real materials and real chemistry\, every camper will make their very own Needoh ball — choosing their color\, customizing their creation\, and taking it home at the end of the day. A one-of-a-kind creation made entirely by their own hands. \nOobleck Exploration — explore the classic cornstarch and water experiment that is somehow both a solid and a liquid at the same time. How is that possible? This is not a passive experience. This is hands-on\, certified teacher-led earth science where kids scratch\, test\, identify\, and create their way through the remarkable story of the ground beneath their feet. \nActivities may include: \nRock and Mineral Identification — examine real rocks and minerals with magnifying glasses and field guides\, identifying specimens like real geologists and discovering the surprising stories each one tells. \nMohs Hardness Scale Testing — scratch test a variety of rocks and minerals to determine their hardness on the real scientific scale that geologists use. Which rock scratches which? On November 18\, that is exactly what we are doing. \nLittle Chefs is a half-day cooking program where young chefs roll up their sleeves\, learn real kitchen skills\, and create a collection of cozy\, homemade foods — some to enjoy on the spot and some to bring home and share with the people they love most. This is not a cooking show. This is not a kit. This is hands-on\, certified teacher-led cooking where kids discover that the best food is always the kind you make yourself. \nActivities may include: \nHomemade Butter — using just heavy cream and a jar\, young chefs will shake\, shake\, shake their way to real homemade butter and discover the surprising science behind how cream transforms into something completely different. Spread on fresh bread and eaten immediately? Even better. \nSoup Kit Assembly — young chefs will carefully measure\, layer\, and assemble a beautiful take-home soup kit — complete with dry ingredients\, a handwritten recipe card\, and everything a family needs to make a warm\, nourishing pot of soup on a cold November night. This is not a passive whodunit. This is hands-on\, certified teacher-led forensic science where kids think critically\, observe carefully\, and discover that science is the most powerful detective tool in the world. \nActivities may include: \nSolve a Mystery — a real mystery has been set up and it is waiting to be solved. Young detectives will work together to examine the scene\, collect evidence\, analyze their findings\, and present their verdict. Every clue matters. Every observation counts. \nFingerprint Analysis — dust for real fingerprints\, lift them carefully\, and analyze them like real forensic scientists. Loops\, whorls\, and arches — every fingerprint tells a story and young detectives will learn to read them. \nInvisible Ink Messages — write and reveal secret messages using real chemistry — lemon juice\, heat\, and the science of oxidation. This is hands-on\, certified teacher-led cooking where kids discover that the best holiday gifts are always the ones you make yourself. \nActivities may include: \nHot Cocoa Bombs — the most magical holiday treat in the known universe. Young chefs will fill chocolate shells with cocoa mix and marshmallows\, seal them up\, and create the most impressive take-home gift of the season.
