DESCRIPTION:Babysitters Club Ages 7–11 | Ages 12+ as CITs | September 10\, 17\, 24\, October 1\, 8\, 15\, 22\, 29\, November 5\, 12\, 19 \nCalling all responsible\, creative\, and caring kids who are ready to level up! 📚 \nThe Babysitters Club is a one-of-a-kind afterschool club inspired by the beloved book series — and perfectly timed to celebrate three brand-new BSC releases hitting shelves this fall\, including The Super Special Graphic Novel on September 15! Whether your child is a longtime BSC superfan or just discovering Kristy\, Claudia\, Mary Anne\, and the gang for the first time\, this club is their chance to live the adventure. \nYoung babysitters-in-training will dive deep into the world of the Babysitters Club through reading\, discussion\, and hands-on skill-building — emerging at the end of the season as genuinely capable\, confident\, and caring young caregivers. And every registration includes a brand-new Babysitters Club book\, because every great babysitter starts with a great story. 📚 \n📚 Grounded in the Books Each session connects to the Babysitters Club books — discussing characters\, storylines\, and the values that make the BSC so beloved: responsibility\, creativity\, friendship\, and showing up for the people who count on you. With three new releases this fall\, there’s never been a better time to be a BSC fan. 🎉 \n🎒 Build Your Very Own Kid Kit One of the BSC’s most iconic tools is the Kid Kit — a box of carefully chosen activities\, games\, and supplies that makes babysitting magic happen. Club members will design and build their very own Kid Kit from scratch\, thinking carefully about what kinds of things belong inside\, who they’re for\, and how to use them like a pro. \n🏅 Earn Your Babysitter Badges Our young babysitters will work toward a series of real skill badges — because great babysitters aren’t just responsible\, they’re prepared. Badges include: \n🔥 Fire Safety Badge — what to do in a fire emergency\, 🍎 Snack Badge — how to prepare safe\, simple snacks and pivot when things don’t go as planned 📞 Dialing 911 Badge — what counts as an emergency\, what to say\, and what to expect 🤔 Judgment Badge — when to handle it yourself vs. when to get an adult 🩹 First Aid Badge — how to dress a cut\, apply a bandage\, and stay calm under pressure 📖 Storytime Badge — how to read aloud to a younger child and keep them engaged 🌙 Bedtime Routine Badge — how to help a child wind down and get ready for bed 🦷 Dental Care Badge — how to brush someone else’s teeth safely\, 🍼 Diaper Badge — the basics of changing a diaper with confidence and care \nEach badge represents a real\, practical skill — the kind that makes families trust you\, kids adore you\, and YOU feel genuinely ready for the job. \n👶 The Real Deal: Practice Session on November 19th On November 19th\, our Babysitters Club members put their skills to the test in a real supervised practice session — caring for younger children while their families enjoy a special evening out. Adult supervision is provided throughout\, of course. This is the moment all those badges have been building toward — and we have a feeling our young babysitters are going to absolutely rise to the occasion. 🌟 \nBabysitters Club members leave the season with their completed Kid Kit\, a full collection of earned badges\, and the kind of confidence that comes from knowing you are truly prepared to care for someone else. 📚💛 \nGrounded in the beloved book series. Celebrating three new BSC releases this fall. Led by certified teachers who believe in building real skills in young people. \nTo register\, please select “afterschool club” and then make sure the calendar is set to the correct month and date (September 10). SUMMARY:Mythbusters Club
DESCRIPTION:Mythbusters Club Mondays\, 3:30–5:00 PM | hosted at High Five Books | Ages 7–10 (Ages 11+ as CITs) \nSeptember 14\, 21\, 28\, October 5\, (no club on the 12)\, 19\, 26\, November 2\, 9\, 16\, and 23 \nIs Bigfoot real? What’s actually lurking in Loch Ness? And should you REALLY be worried about spiders crawling into your mouth while you sleep? 🕷️ \nMythbusters Club is a 10-session afterschool investigation into the world’s most fascinating cryptids\, urban legends\, and unsolved mysteries — where kids don’t just explore the lore\, they think like scientists and investigate the evidence. Each session dives into a new legend from two angles: what people believe\, and what the science actually says. Then kids make their own verdict.  \nThis is not just a monster fan club. This is critical thinking disguised as the most exciting afterschool program of the year. \nEach session follows the Mythbusters Framework: \n\n🔍 The Legend — where did this story come from and why do people believe it?\n🧪 The Evidence — what proof exists and how was it collected?\n🔬 The Investigation — what does science say? What experiments can we run?\n⚖️ The Verdict — busted\, plausible\, or confirmed?\n📓 The Field Journal — kids record their findings like real investigators\n\nEvery session\, young investigators add a new page to their official Mythbusters Field Journal\, building a complete investigation log they keep at the end of the season.  \nAlong the way\, Mythbusters Club members will build real skills that go far beyond cryptids: \n\nScientific thinking and the investigation process\nEvidence evaluation — how do we know what we know?\nCritical thinking and healthy skepticism\nResearch\, note-taking\, and presentation skills\nMedia literacy — why do people believe things that aren’t true?\nCultural literacy — where do legends come from and what do they tell us about society?\nThe courage to say “I don’t know — let’s find out” \n\nThis club is perfect for curious kids who love mysteries\, science\, a good scare\, and the thrill of finding out what’s REALLY going on. Just the right amount of spooky. Not too much\, we promise. 🔍 \nMythbusters Club meets Mondays from 3:30–5:00 PM at High Five Books. Ages 7–10. Ages 11 and up are invited to join as Counselors-in-Training. \nTo book the club for your leaner\, make sure the calendar is set to the start date (September 14th) before you click to register. Kids will arrive early to set up\, review food safety and serving etiquette\, put on their aprons\, and open the café doors. \nIt is the culminating moment of eleven weeks of learning\, growing\, and cooking — and we have a feeling it is going to be absolutely unforgettable. 💛 \nA Note on Kitchen Safety This club takes place in the full kitchen at the Florence Civic Center — a real\, working kitchen with real equipment.
