DESCRIPTION:Astronomy Day 2026\n\nExplore the wonders of the universe with family friendly activities including a professional digital planetarium\, hands-on activities in the Space Trailer\, and an amazing collection of science crafts and gizmos. Weather permitting\, local stargazers will share views through telescopes for both daytime and evening observation. \nThe entire day centers on the fusion of art and science with the goal of inspiring curiosity\, care\, connection\, and action for the future of our planet. \nThe entire space-themed family activities are FREE and open to the community from 3:00 – 5:30 p.m. \n\n20-minute repeating planetarium programs showing the beauty and wonders of our Universe with images taken by astronomers worldwide\nSpace books\, space games\, and space activities in the Community Classroom’s amazing Space Trailer\n4:30 p.m. Raffle of space-themed gift basket from A2Z Science and Learning Toy Store\nThe scratch-built scale model of the International Space Station (ISS) will also be on display providing an up-close look at the remarkable orbiting laboratory.  Weather permitting\, landing on the Bombyx front lawn!\nAs weather permits\, safe observations through a solar filter on a large telescope to observe sunspots on our nearest star\n\nEnd the day with Earth Music Theater Live at 7pm for a suggested donation of $10! \nThis event is supported by the Mass Cultural Council.
